Patch creation, design and production is a process. A sample or rare production patch is sometimes created. This sample or production patch slightly varies from the larger run and is used to approve color, shape and thread count. When approved, the final run begins.

Usually only 1 or 2 pre-production patches exist. (if any at all). These are extremely rare and considered the holy grail’s of patch collecting.
